Could Jeep pull off a $100k limited edition Wrangler?

Everyone is doing it and I don’t see why they couldn’t cash in too.

The V8 Defender is $150k, limited edition G Wagons are at least $200k, hell Jeep’s own Trackhawk can get to $100k.

Start with a Rubicon, throw the Mopar parts bin at it. Including the 2 inch lift. Crucially put a 6.4 Hemi under the hood and add a unique paint scheme. Sell 100-500 and Voila, pay day.

They could. Should people drop 100 grand on a wrangler? No. Would they? Yes (in small numbers at least)

That’d be insane and probably snap the Dana 44s. Welp, get out the Power Wagon axles.

Dana 60 should work.

Jeep has got to want that modified wrangler money.

Which is why they are building so many of their own parts for it now. Axles upgrades, lift kits, bar work, etc. Mopar is finally getting in on that money.

Thats the tricky bit. Its hard for a manufacture to do engine swaps. new crash certs. ew.

The only problem with that I can see is, the Wrangler Rubicon would not longer be the top, and could negatively impact the Rubicon’s sales because of that. Would the extra profit from the handful of SuperWranglers make up for the lost Rubicon sales? Would a significant amount of people not buy a Rubicon because it’s not the most expensive?

I mean they decided for this generation certifying 3 engines is worth it. Whats one more?

I personally don’t think it would hurt Rubicon sales. Maybach G650 didn’t seem to hurt the normal G wagon. It’d a 1% play thing you would rarely see, if ever.

They definitely could – all of that already exists in the aftermarket, and the execution of which looks like it was factory to begin with!

Should they, though? Nope. Even $50k is too much for what it really is, not to mention $100k. But people would totally buy them anyway.

Yes. It’s called the AEV Brute:

Those cost $100k?! Well damn, then yea Jeep could do it too.

If people would buy them, doesn’t that mean they should? The Jeep halo product should be a Wrangler anyways.

I meant more in the context of if it’s actually worth the $100k or not. But yeah, from a straight business perspective, they totally should do it, if there’s no way it can backfire from a marketing standpoint.

Absolutely they could, the aftermarket does it already, so there are already customers out there that are perfectly willing to drop 6 figures on a high zoot Wrangler.

Should they? Probably - the margins would be enormous, probably even more profitable than the Broughamed-out Rams.

A 2 door range rover isn’t worth $350k, but that didn’t stop them from selling all 999 of them.

It’s a $41k conversion on top of the Wrangler you’re buying as part of the package, so you’re very nearly at or over $100k out the door. Add to that the Jeep Tax and you won’t see a used one of any age below $70k...

Folks are already saying the new Scrambler killed the Brute, because obviously no one is going to want to convert a JL if it comes in truck form already. And AEV has already discontinued and moved on to RAM products.

Now this will be the real kicker...what if the Scrambler MSRP doesn’t undercut the Brute, but MATCHES it?

Nah, they can’t make it that much. I wouldn’t be surprised if it started at $35-4ok. It will certainly get more expensive than that though.
